The cost of a longer Vietnam stay is not just the visa application fee. If your lawful arrangements require leaving the country, transport, accommodation and time away can cost more than the official application itself.

A traveller's successful border trip is not a guarantee that the same arrangement will be suitable or approved for you. Plan around your nationality, purpose of stay and the permission actually granted.

What the official portal says

The Vietnam Immigration Department's e-visa portal, checked on 29 October 2026, states that e-visas may be valid for up to 90 days, for single or multiple entries. It lists USD 25 for single entry and USD 50 for multiple entry. The application fee is non-refundable if the visa is not granted, and the personal application route is for foreigners outside Vietnam.

These fees are not an all-inclusive long-stay package, and an e-visa does not by itself establish permission to work.

Price each component separately

ComponentHow to budget it
Government application feeUse the official fee for the applicable visa
International transportObtain a quote for the actual route and date
Destination entry requirementsCheck any separate authorization and fees
Accommodation while awayAllow for the actual approval and travel schedule
Agency serviceRequest an itemized quote and identify what it excludes
Work disruptionConsider days when you cannot follow your normal routine

Do not assume an advertised same-day service removes all approval or timing uncertainty. Check official conditions independently before paying a service provider.

Keep the budget arithmetic honest

If a lawful trip costs an illustrative USD 240 in total and is associated with a three-month planning period, its monthly equivalent is USD 80. That calculation does not mean the trip costs USD 80, nor does it establish permission to repeat it.

A multiple-entry visa also has a validity period. Leaving and returning should not be treated as automatically restarting a fresh maximum stay. Read the dates and conditions on the issued document.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a Vietnam e-visa?

The official portal lists USD 25 for single entry and USD 50 for multiple entry at the check date. Confirm the current fee and your eligibility on the official site before applying.

Does a visa-run agency price include everything?

Do not assume so. Ask separately about application fees, transport, destination entry costs, accommodation and service charges. The agency's description is not a substitute for official immigration conditions.

Can I budget on repeated entries indefinitely?

No guaranteed right to repeated entry follows from a budget or another traveller's experience. Confirm an appropriate lawful route for your intended duration and activities, and keep flexibility for changes in your plans.
