Expert take — Cost of Asia editorial team Only six Bangkok-area schools appear on the UK government's list of accredited British Schools Overseas (BSO), updated 5 October 2026: Brighton College, Harrow, King's College, St Andrew's International School Bangkok, St Andrews Samakee and Traill. A "British" label tells you the curriculum, not whether the school has passed a UK-standard inspection. Ask each school which body inspected it and when, then check the report yourself.

This guide is for families who want the English National Curriculum through IGCSE, usually followed by A levels. Two things separate Bangkok's British schools more than the brochures suggest: what happens at 16 (A levels or the IB Diploma) and how far the campus is from your home. Fees below run from about THB 325,000 to THB 1.26 million a year.

How we chose

  • British curriculum through IGCSE, with a clear sixth-form route.
  • Published 2026/27 fees, from school websites or the International Schools Database.
  • Inspection we could verify, mainly the UK government's BSO list.
  • A spread of locations.

Checked on 4 November 2026. Fees are annual tuition in Thai baht.

1. Harrow International School Bangkok — best for boarding

Harrow, in Don Mueang in the north of the city, teaches IGCSE and A levels. It was inspected under the BSO scheme in March 2026. Tuition for 2026/27 runs from THB 634,600 to THB 1,063,000.

A relocation guide lists weekly boarding at THB 456,700 a year and full boarding at THB 571,100 on top. New families pay a THB 225,000 admission fee and a refundable deposit of THB 200,000 (day) or THB 275,000 (boarders). Meals are included.

2. Shrewsbury International School — best for A levels by the river

Shrewsbury's Riverside campus is at 1922 Charoen Krung Road, and its City Campus is on Rim Klong Samsen Road (Rama 9) in Huai Khwang. The school teaches IGCSE and A levels, with 2026/27 tuition from THB 696,300 to THB 1,256,700, the highest in this guide.

Shrewsbury is not on the BSO list, so ask which accreditation it holds. Confirm which campus your child's year group attends: listings disagree on the City Campus age range.

3. King's College International School Bangkok — best for south-central Bangkok

King's College is on Ratchadaphisek Road in Yan Nawa, near Rama 3. Its curriculum, adapted from King's College School, Wimbledon, leads to IGCSE and A levels. It was inspected under the BSO scheme in March 2024. Tuition for 2026/27 runs from THB 636,500 to THB 1,098,500.

It suits families in Sathorn, Rama 3 or along the river.

4. Brighton College Bangkok — best for north Bangkok

Brighton College Bangkok appears on the BSO list, inspected in November 2023. Its Vibhavadi campus is at 998 Vibhavadi Rangsit Road in Chatuchak, with 2026/27 tuition from THB 609,200 to THB 1,050,500 and a curriculum leading to IGCSE and A levels. An independent guide also lists a Krungthep Kreetha campus.

Ask which campus the BSO inspection covered.

5. St Andrews International School Bangkok — best for Sukhumvit with a lower joining fee

This Nord Anglia school has a primary site off Sukhumvit 71 and a high school on Sukhumvit Road, and is on the BSO list (inspected May 2024). For 2026/27, tuition runs from THB 607,200 in Foundation Stage 2 to THB 873,800 in Year 12. Year 11 and Year 13 fees include exam fees.

The enrollment fee is THB 160,000 for Years 1–6 and THB 90,000 for Years 7–13, and the school says it is waived for Foundation Stage 2 and 3 and Year 1 (its fee page is ambiguous on Year 1, so confirm). Independent directories list the IB in its sixth form rather than A levels; check with admissions.

6. Garden International School — best for value with A levels

Garden is at Yen Akat Road in Sathorn and teaches the English curriculum through IGCSE and A levels. It is a FOBISIA member school. Billed per term, 2026/27 tuition comes to THB 324,900 for Nursery, THB 431,100 for Years 1–6 and THB 514,000 for Years 12–13.

New pupils pay a THB 120,000 enrollment fee (Primary and Secondary) and a THB 40,000 refundable deposit; exams are extra. See our affordable schools guide for more lower-fee options.

What to check before you decide

  • Check the BSO list on GOV.UK and read the latest report.
  • Ask what happens at 16: A levels, the IB Diploma or both.
  • Request a full first-year invoice, including admission fees and deposits.
  • Confirm the campus for each year group.
  • Drive the school run at peak hour.
