Expert take — Cost of Asia editorial team In Chiang Mai, a coworking space's air filtration counts for more than its Wi-Fi during the crop-burning season: on 26 March 2026, IQAir rated the city's air "very unhealthy" (AQI above 220). If you'll be in town during burning season, choose a sealed, air-conditioned space with purifiers. Yellow and Punspace both list air purifiers among their facilities. Skip open-air cafés on smoky days.
Chiang Mai is one of Thailand's main bases for remote workers, and its coworking prices are modest. Most spaces cluster in two areas: Nimmanhaemin (Nimman), west of the Old City, and the Old City itself.
The main trade-off is between a full-service space with 24/7 member access, and a cheaper day pass or café setup that closes at dinner time. If you work US hours, after-hours access will matter more than price.

How we chose
- Area: walkable from where most expats rent (Nimman, Santitham, the Old City, the riverside).
- Hours and 24/7 member access.
- Published day and monthly rates, dated, because prices here change often.
- Air quality: purifiers listed as a facility.
We could not run on-site speed tests. Checked on 1 November 2026.
1. Yellow Coworking — best for the Nimman community
Yellow is on Nimman Soi 9 and describes itself as a 1,500 m² space. Both Time Out (January 2026) and DigitalNomads.world (September 2026) list a THB 429 day pass and THB 5,990 a month. Visitors can use it from 9:00 to 18:00, and monthly members get 24/7 access. Air purifiers are listed among its facilities. It is the priciest option here, but it is easy to walk to from most Nimman condos.
2. Punspace — best for an Old City base
Punspace runs two sites: Wiang Kaew, on the north side of the Old City, and Tha Phae Gate, near the Night Bazaar. Time Out listed day passes from THB 289 and monthly from THB 3,899 in January 2026. DigitalNomads.world could not find a current public price in September, so ask before you go. Wiang Kaew opens daily from 9:00 to 18:00; Tha Phae Gate opens Monday to Saturday. Weekly and monthly members get 24/7 access.
3. Alt_ChiangMai / Alt_PingRiver — best for evening work and coliving
Alt runs two sites. Alt_PingRiver is in Wat Ket, east of the river, and Time Out describes Alt_ChiangMai as a short ride from Santitham. Weekday hours run to 21:00, and coliving guests and monthly members get 24/7 access. Time Out listed day passes from THB 220. DigitalNomads.world later found THB 320 for visitors, plus THB 1,600 a week and THB 3,500 for 15 days.
What would this move really cost you?
Use your own rent, insurance, transport and visa assumptions. Compare options before committing.
4. Nim Space — best for round-the-clock access
Nim Space is in Nimmanhaemin, and Time Out lists it as open 24/7, with day passes from THB 300 and monthly from THB 3,000. It suits night owls who want a desk without paying Yellow's rate. Visit first to check noise and seating.
5. CAMP at Maya — best for zero commitment
CAMP is on the fifth floor of Maya Lifestyle Shopping Centre, at the top of Nimman. It has no memberships: Time Out says each THB 50 spent buys two hours of Wi-Fi, and it opens from 8:00 to midnight. Treat it as a backup rather than a place for client calls.
6. Heartwork: The Sharing Space — best for the cheapest quiet day
Heartwork in Hai Ya, south of the Old City, listed day passes from THB 90 in Time Out's January 2026 guide. It opens 9:00–17:30 and closes on Sundays. It fits people living south of the moat who want a low-key, low-cost day.
What to check before you decide
- Check the air during burning season: ask whether purifiers run all day and whether doors stay shut.
- Test the speed on Wi-Fi and the backup connection, then repeat at the afternoon peak.
- Confirm 24/7 access: which plans include it and how entry works (key card or code).
- Get the current price list: rates here have moved within a single year.
- Plan your commute: walking in Nimman is easy, but crossing the moat at rush hour isn't.
